From a modest beginning right from the inception of the college, the Library has grown in space and collection in the tune of more than 65000 documents and subscribes to about 88 academic journals(Print). The library which was functioning at the first floor of the College was shifted to the Very Rev. V.P Mammen Memorial Hall in the beginning of the academic year 1959-60. The College library was graded as 1st grade library in 1970 by the state government. The library has now in addition to books and journals, a good collection of microfiche, CDROMs and Cassettes. Several news magazines and dailies are also available for browsing. Bound Volumes of THE HINDU Newspaper from 1958 onwards , bound volumes of THE TIME, THE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC and other academic journals attract researchers & general public as well. The Library has also started an Archives Section with a modest collection of archival materials. On an average about 40000 books and about 25000 periodicals are issued every year, the references inside the library notwithstanding. The library is open to all members of the staff and students of the college and the users have direct access to the shelves in the stack room and reading hall. The classification system used is Dewey Decimal Classification ( DDC) and follows the Anglo American Cataloging Rules (AACR-11), and bar-coded accordingly. An online database of catalogue of books (OPAC), INTERNET and E -Mail services are made use of by students and staff of the college. The services of the library is automated using an integrated, window based, multi-user, menu driven library management software – LIBSOFT
